Florida judicial races: why this guide treats judges differently
Judges were parked as a category. That is an honesty decision, not a claim that circuit and county court do not matter. Florida voters see nonpartisan judicial groups on many August styles. Most of those names will never get a JesusVoter essay. This page explains why, quotes only the judicial triples already live on the Florida guide for Orange 9th Circuit Group 1, and stops. We do not invent new judicial scores. We do not write 67 judge pages.
August 18 could finish a judicial seat or send a pair to November. We will not invent August 18’s result for any group that is not on the live November 3 file. Why the category was parked
A governor, a cabinet officer, a member of Congress, and even a school-board member can run a Christ-named platform if they choose. A Florida judge generally cannot. Judicial canons limit campaigning on issues that look like promises about cases. A candidate who would score 40 Christian as a school-board mom because she said “Christ is King” and opposed gender ideology in sports cannot put that same grid on a judicial mailer. If we scored judges with the same expectation of a Gospel-issue campaign, almost every honest card would look like a failure.
So this guide treats a judicial card, when it publishes one, as apply-the-law plus the public conservative trail that is allowed: Florida Family Action’s judicial primary guide, a Federalist Society note, a prosecutor or public-defender résumé, a questionnaire that says the candidate will follow binding precedent, a party endorsement that leaks into a nonpartisan race. That is a thinner Jesus signal by design. The letter can still be A because we looked hard at that allowed trail. The Christian bar stays mid because the public record is not a Christ-first platform.
That is the opposite of “pretty up a D.” It is also the opposite of inventing a 40. Honesty over volume. Most Florida counties do not get a judicial essay. If your county is Liberty, Hendry, Dixie, or Seminole and you do not see those court cards quoted here, it is because we are not going to quote a court card unless it is already on a live HTML landing. Orange is confirmed live. We skip the rest.
Orange examples on the live November 3 file
These triples are the Orange judicial names still on the live Florida guide for November 3. We quote them as examples of how this guide treats judges when it publishes them. We do not add a nineteenth circuit. We do not reprint a primary-only group as if that oval is still live.
9th Circuit Group 1 — November pair. Charles Hart 4 / 24 / 16 · Grade B. Temika Hampton-Johnson 0 / 3 / 0 · Grade B. Same letter. The bars are not. Hart still holds the Constitution (24) and GOP (16) lead on this nonpartisan line. Christian is 4 — mid is gone; the live card is an allowed-trail judicial score, not a Christ-named campaign. Hampton-Johnson is 0 / 3 / 0. Mikaela Nix lost August 18 and is not on the November 3 general ballot. We will not quote her as a current oval.
9th Circuit Group 2, Group 31, and Orange County Court Group 5 are not on the live November 3 file we quote here. Honesty over volume: we skip them. How to read a judicial A without fooling yourself
On a governor card, a 40-plus Christian bar is a Christ-named campaign. On this judicial card, Hart’s 4 Christian / 24 Constitution is the live allowed trail. If you sort Orange judges next to governor 2026 values and wonder why no judge hits 40, you are asking the canons to vanish. If you sort only by letter, both November names are B, and you have learned nothing about the bars.
Use Florida Family Action the way we use a badge on a political card: as a filter, not as a second hundred. A listing is a public conservative signal we are willing to write down. It is not extra points on top of 45 / 35 / 20.
What not to expect
Do not expect a judicial essay for each of Florida’s 67 counties. Do not expect this page to grow into a secret docket of every group on every circuit. Do not expect us to quote a Liberty, Hendry, Dixie, or Seminole court card just because an inventory file somewhere has a number. If it is not on a live HTML landing, we skip it.
Do not expect a judge to pick up a Trump, DeSantis, Musk, or MAHA badge the way a governor candidate can. Those callouts are for political campaigns. Longer badge rules: callout badges explained. Do not email us a private story about how a judge “really believes” and expect a 10-point Christian raise. How JesusVoter corrects a score is the process. Send a campaign page, a questionnaire, a named news story, or another source we can open to hello@jesusvoter.com. Private faith does not change a number.
Civic facts that still apply
Judicial lines are nonpartisan. NPA voters who cannot vote a Republican governor primary can still see these groups when they print.
