How to vote in the Florida general
The election in front of you is the general on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The August 18, 2026 primary is over. This page is free civic information from JesusVoter. It is not an official ballot, and it does not call a winner. Candidate scores are on the Florida guide. How the numbers are built is on how we score.
What already happened in August, including the closed-primary rules, is on the primary page. November is a different paper. Party nominees are on the general ballot for that precinct. Confirm your own style with your county.
Confirm the dates with your county
Registration deadlines and early-voting days are set by the state and published by your Supervisor of Elections. This page does not print those dates. Start here:
- Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
- Registration and early voting: your county Supervisor of Elections, and the Florida Division of Elections.
- Every county office: the Division’s Supervisor list.
- Polls: confirm the opening and closing time with your Supervisor. The Florida guide’s How to Vote tab repeats the hours stored for this election and tells you to confirm them locally.
Your sample ballot is a full address
The legal ballot is built by precinct. Precincts follow street ranges, not ZIP codes. Two houses in the same ZIP can sit in different commission districts, school-board districts, or U.S. House seats. The ZIP box on the Florida guide estimates a county. It is not the ballot they hand you.
Open your Supervisor’s sample-ballot tool and type the full residential address. Bring the photo identification your county tells you to bring. If you are unsure which ID counts, ask that office before Election Day. A provisional ballot is not the plan.
Three ways people vote
- Early voting. Days, hours, and sites are a county list. Read that list on the Supervisor’s site. Do not trust a forwarded screenshot.
- Election Day. Vote at the precinct on your sample ballot or voter-information card, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
- Vote-by-mail. Request it from your Supervisor if you want one. Ask that office when the ballot must be received, and sign the envelope the way they instruct. A postmark is a question for the county, not a guess from this page.
Military and overseas voters should start with the Division of Elections or the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
What November decides
The general is where party nominees meet, and where Florida’s certified statewide amendments appear. The three amendments on this guide are explained at Florida’s 2026 amendments. Some local offices were decided in August. Some city elections use a different calendar. The sample ballot is the list. We do not fill in a name the county has not printed.
County pages and the interactive guide are a values reading of public records. They are not the Supervisor of Elections. Florida counties · Open the Florida guide · How to read a sample ballot.
