Abortion drugs in the drinking water
Live Action reported that the EPA is being pressed to test drinking water for the drugs used in chemical abortion. The Thursday report is the source for this piece. What a community flushes after an abortion does not stay a private medical detail.
Live Action’s earlier water piece on the coalition of state attorneys general says fourteen Republican attorneys general led by Missouri AG Catherine Hanaway sent a letter urging EPA to investigate and regulate the abortion pill mifepristone as a U.S. water-supply contaminant. The letter ties the rise of telehealth prescriptions and mail-order delivery with little federal safeguard to flushing human fetal remains and active abortion-drug metabolites into wastewater that can reach local drinking water. The attorneys general ask EPA to add mifepristone to the Contaminant Candidate List under the Safe Drinking Water Act so the drug gets named for federal safety studies instead of hiding inside a vague pharmaceuticals bucket. Liberty Counsel Action’s Abortion in Our Water work has pressed FDA and EPA since May 2025 to assess those contaminants and the medical waste from chemical abortions and has even asked FDA to suspend the drug’s current approval until that assessment is done. That is not a culture-war slogan. That is a confession that a chemical abortion does not vanish when the toilet flushes.
Being a Christian in America this week is refusing to separate the pill from the child from the pipe. Test the water. Tell the truth. And do not confuse a midterm with the least of these.
